About
Sarah Houle is a painter splitting time between Los Angeles, California and Chicago, Illinois. Her practice centers around play, tension and harmony, and naming the unseen. She holds a BFA in painting from Washington University in St. Louis (2005).
Outside of her painting practice, Sarah is a salsa dancer and a racial justice facilitator. In the facilitation side of her work, she aims to help other white people see and understand whiteness, so that they may all show up for racial justice in authentic, effective and sustainable ways. She is affiliated with AWARE-LA (Alliance of White Anti-Racists Everywhere), a volunteer organization whose mission is to organize white people to stand on the side of racial justice.
